Over the past few years, I've been fortunate enough to cross paths with an incredible array of inspiring individuals who have left an indelible mark on my life. From meeting the Pakistani Minister of Climate Change in Geneva, Switzerland, during a UN conference, to delving into the intricacies of antenna theory for CubeSat satellites with esteemed colleagues, each encounter has taught me something new about the limitless possibilities of human potential.
As one of ten students selected internationally for the Optica Amplify Scholar Program, I'll be able to further my research in the field of optical communication and continue my passion for outreach and education in engineering as a whole.
As a GE-Reagan Scholar at the 2023 Scholar Retreat, I had the opportunity to reflect upon my journey at Brown University and all that it took to get to where I am today. As I spoke on this panel of 4 other Reagan Scholars, I shared memories of the early days of my college experience and plans for the future.
From the invitation of the Pakistan ambassador to the United States, I and 10 other students from Brown University attended a United Nations conference that focused on the rebuilding and bolstering of resiliency efforts for Pakistan in the face of the 2022 floods. During my time in Switzerland, I had the opportunity to hear from world leaders and truly see climate action and policy on a global stage.
As a part of a joint conference with Brown Space Engineering and the Yale Undergraduate Aeronautics Association, I gave a lecture to students from both institutions about how BSE's satellite, PVDx communicates back to Earth and steps being taken to implement complex communications systems
In 2021, I had the privilege of receiving a scholarship from the fraternity Kappa Alpha Psi. The following year, I gave a speech to the 2022 recipients to congratulate them on all of their hard work and acheivements.
Hate has no place in these United States. This was a speech I gave at my high school graduation reflecting on the political unrest and social climate of the present while encouraging the younger generation to improve the status quo for the future.
